Jason's a lifelong resident of Metro Vancouver. He studied communication at SFU and spent nearly a decade in the corporate world before realizing
that entrepreneurship was his calling. That's when he did what most aspiring freelancers would do... he became a dad.
The challenge of being a "parentrepreneur" inspired him to open his award-winning coworking space, Beta Collective, with locations in Surrey and Burnaby. His workspaces have helped over 200 small businesses and non-profit organizations gain a foothold in their community. The subsequent success of Beta Collective led him to co-found YVR Prep commissary kitchen in Burnaby to further support small businesses in the food production industry.
His volunteer work includes serving on the boards of DiverseCity Community Resources Society, Coworking BC Society, and the Burnaby Board of Trade. Previously, he served on the Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association board and also co-founded the TEDxSFU conference, which is the longest running TEDx event in Western Canada.
Jason discovered a passion for DJ'ing and enjoys spinning his favourite tracks in front of his #1 fan, Robert the chihuahua. He lives in Coquitlam with his wife, Robert, and 2 young daughters.
